The zoo has been associated with the people of Thailand for over 60 years. This  zoo in Bang Phra is popular with both children and adults. The road leading to the zoo and the area inside the gate is leafy and tree-lined, and most of the original forest has been preserved. The zoo is home to over 200 animals from Asia and Africa, including many from the recently closed Khao Din Zoo.
