The Temple of the Reclining Buddha-( Wat Pho), constructed an 80,000 sqm2. Buddhist temple, 700 measures south, of The Grand Palace. The Reclining Buddha the largest collection of Buddha statuettes in Thailand; including the world- famed 46 meter long gold plated reclining Buddha. Wat Pho is one of Bangkok's most ancient tabernacles and holds a bracket as the loftiest grade first- class royal temple. It was firstly named Wat Photharam, relating to the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India where Buddha attained enlightenment. It was before Bangkok was set up as the capital by King Rama I in 1782. He expanded and rebuilt the temple complex on an earlier temple point, which came his foremost temple. Some of the lords ashes are indeed elevated there.
